건너편 풀이 더 푸른 이유가

그곳에 늘 비가 오기 때문이라면,

언제나 나눠 주는 사람이

사실은 가진 것이 거의 없는

사람이라면,

​

가장 환한 미소를 짓는 사람이

눈물 젖은 베개를 가지고 있고

​

당신이 아는 가장 용감한 사람이

사실은 두려움으로 마비된

사람이라면,

​

세상은 외로운 사람들로 가득하지만

함께 있어서 보이지 않는 것이라면,

​

자신은 진정한 안식처가 없으면서도

당신을 편안하게 해 주는 것이라면,

​

어쩌면 그들의 풀이 더 푸르러

보이는 것은

그들이 그 색으로 칠했기

때문이라면.

​

다만 기억하라. 건너편에서는

당신의 풀이 더 푸르러 보인다는

것을.
